The Illinois Defense of Marriage Initiative is a statewide effort to put an advisory referendum on the 2012 ballot.  We are a group of Illinois citizens who are concerned about the family.  Our effort is to uphold and strengthen marriage laws in the land of Lincoln.  With your help, we will collect 500,000 signatures of registered Illinois voters by April 23, 2012.

Download the 2-page Petition Instructions, and the petition for your election jurisdiction.   IMPORTANT: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. Why the instructions are very important

Petition Instructions — IMPORTANT — Before you get any signatures, we ask that you print and carefully read the instructions. Signature collectors, known as circulators, must be registered Illinois voters, and each signature and address must be written and collected in the proper way, or the referendum judges will throw out these names. We want every signature to count. Complete instructions are listed on the Petition Instructions.

Why the traditional institution of marriage must be defended

Marriage is the cornerstone of civilization.  It is in danger of being radically redefined by so-called “progressive” pro-homosexual activists, politicians and judges — in the name of “equality.” The truth is that there is no equal to God’s standard for marriage:  ONE Man, ONE Woman.
