Take Action Against the “Mini-Bathroom Bill” of Massachusetts

Friends,

Last Friday, with no public announcement and in a private ceremony with transgender activists, Governor Deval Patrick signed an executive order – a Mini "Bathroom Bill" – giving state employees special protection if they identify as “transgender.”

Our lawyers continue to assess the full scope of this sweeping order, but one thing is for sure, we cannot allow it to stand without a fight. The Governor has chosen to act against the voters and to bypass the Legislature, which has up until now refused to approve the full "Bathroom Bill." It is also possible that his decision will have an immediate impact in our public schools.

Please, take action RIGHT NOW by contacting your state senator and state representative and urging them to OPPOSE the "Bathroom Bill." Be sure to express your opposition to the Governor's executive order. CLICK HERE to send your email.

Additionally, call Governor Patrick and tell him to reverse his "Bathroom" Executive Order. The Legislature and the people must have the last word when it comes to their safety, privacy and modesty, especially in bathrooms. Governor Patrick's office can be reached at 617.725.4005.

Remember, all a person has to do is say he “identifies” as transgender person to receive special protections.  That means if a man walks into a ladies bathroom, it will be “discriminatory” to even question why he is there – whether he appears transgender or not.  This is dangerous, and instead of solving real problems like creating jobs and fixing our economy, our Governor is courting special interests and making the Commonwealth less safe.

Please use the link below to send your legislators an email opposing the "Bathroom Bill" and Governor Patrick's executive order.

Thank you,
