"Protect Our Children’s Innocence" Petition to Congress

Public Advocate Banner

Dear Pro-family American,

The Radical Homosexuals infiltrating the United States Congress have a plan:

Indoctrinate an entire generation of American children with pro-homosexual propaganda and eliminate traditional values from American society.

Their ultimate dream is to create a new America based on sexual promiscuity in which the values you and I cherish are long forgotten.

I hate to admit it, but if they pass the deceptively named "Student Non-Discrimination Act," (H.R. 998 & S. 555) that’s exactly what they’ll do.

Better named the "Homosexual Classrooms Act," its chief advocate in Congress is Rep. Jared Polis, himself an open homosexual and radical activist.

And it's dangerously close to becoming the law of the land.

H.R. 998 already has 147 co-sponsors in the House!

And S. 555 already has 34 co-sponsors in the Senate!

That’s why I need you to act quickly -- right away -- to protect our nation’s youth.

I have prepared the official "Protect Our Children’s Innocence" Petition to Congress for you to sign.

Please click here to sign it right away so I can rush it to the Capitol with thousands more.
You and I must defeat this disastrous legislation.

You see, the Homosexual Classrooms Act contains a laundry list of anti-family provisions that will:
*** Require schools to teach appalling homosexual acts so "homosexual students" don’t feel "singled out" during already explicit sex-ed classes;
*** Spin impressionable students in a whirlwind of sexual confusion and misinformation, even peer pressure to "experiment" with the homosexual "lifestyle;"
*** Exempt homosexual students from punishment for propositioning, harassing, or even sexually assaulting their classmates, as part of their specially-protected right to "freedom of self-expression;"
*** Force private and even religious schools to teach a pro-homosexual curriculum and purge any reference to religion if a student claims it creates a "hostile learning environment" for homosexual students.
And that’s just the beginning of the Homosexual Lobby’s radical agenda.

In fact, it will set them up to ram through their entire perverted vision for a homosexual America.

My friend, I’m sure I don’t have to tell you this is not a fight we can afford to lose.

That’s why Public Advocate is leading the fight against this immoral legislation.

Press Release & Petition in Support of Free Speach At Sam Houston State Univ.

PRESS RELEASE:

Professor Takes Box Cutter to Students' Free Speech Wall at Sam Houston State University; Police Threaten Students with Charges over Profanity about President Obama

HOUSTON, Oct. 6, 2011—Two weeks ago, a professor at Sam Houston State University (SHSU) used a box cutter to cut an insult against President Obama out of a "free speech wall" promoted by four student organizations. When campus police arrived, an officer demanded that the students censor the wall or else face criminal charges for having offended the professor. The students have come to the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) for help.

"This is an astounding example of the 'heckler's veto,' where one professor decided he could dictate what everyone else is allowed to say—and the campus police actually took his side," FIRE President Greg Lukianoff said. "Furthermore, it's absurd to threaten students with criminal charges for other people's expression on a 'free speech wall.'"

In September, students learned about a new social media policy planned for SHSU. The policy claims that the letters "SHSU" and similar terms have been trademarked, so student organizations that want to use these terms in their online identities (including the names of their organizations) will have to join a very speech-restrictive "Official Community" controlled by the university. Joining the "Official Community" requires turning over a group's social media passwords to the university, giving the university authority to approve a group's "official profile image[s]/avatars," and giving the university authority to edit and delete a group's social media content. If the groups do not join, they will have to change their online names so as not to use the terms trademarked by SHSU.

To protest this policy, four student organizations—SHSU Lovers of Liberty, Bearkat Democrats, Sam Houston Democratic Socialists, and College Republicans—cosponsored the display of a "free speech wall" on September 22. The student groups had received permission from SHSU to erect the wall. Many students wrote a variety of political and other messages on the wall, including "don't hate against Gays," "If you make less than $200,000 Republicans don't care about you," "Han Solo Shot First," "Legalize Weed," and "FUCK OBAMA." Someone wrote "BUSH" under "OBAMA," and others joined the political dialogue on the wall.

According to a statement to police filed the same day by SHSU Lovers of Liberty President Morgan Freeman, SHSU Professor of Mathematics Joe E. Kirk demanded that the student organizers cover up the part of the wall containing the profanity about President Obama. They declined, so Kirk cut out the profanity next to the word "Obama" (but none of the other profanities on the wall) with a box cutter. To report Kirk's vandalism, the students called in an SHSU Police Department officer, who interviewed Kirk and then informed the students that they must either cover up all of the profanity on the wall or take down the wall altogether. The students refused to be agents of the university's selective censorship and therefore felt forced to take down the entire wall, which they did.

Later that day, University Police Department Deputy Chief James Fitch told SHSU student newspaper The Houstonian
that because Kirk was "offended by the use of the profanity," its use "qualified it as disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor."

FIRE wrote SHSU President Dana L. Gibson on September 23 in defense of the First Amendment on campus, noting that the Supreme Court stated in Papish v. Board of Curators of the University of Missouri (1973) that "the mere dissemination of ideas—no matter how offensive to good taste—on a state university campus may not be shut off in the name alone of 'conventions of decency.'" FIRE also cited the landmark Supreme Court case Cohen v. California (1971), which made it clear that public profanity in the communication of core political speech is protected, writing that "one man's vulgarity is another's lyric."

Gibson responded later that day, assuring FIRE that the incident was "under investigation." On October 4, SHSU Public Information Officer Julia May replied, acknowledging that Kirk "overreacted" but failing to address the police officer's censorship demand and threat of criminal charges against the students. FIRE asked Gibson for clarification on October 5, but SHSU has not responded.

"The worst overreaction in this case came from the campus police, who not only demanded censorship of a 'free speech wall' but also have put students on notice that they could be criminally charged simply for offending others," FIRE Vice President of Programs Adam Kissel said. "Sam Houston State University must reassure students that it will defend their First Amendment rights against such a terrible misinterpretation of the law."

FIRE also named SHSU as "Speech Code of the Month" for October 2011 due to its unconstitutional ban on "using abusive, indecent, profane or vulgar language."

FIRE is a nonprofit educational foundation that unites civil rights and civil liberties leaders, scholars, journalists, and public intellectuals from across the political and ideological spectrum on behalf of individual rights, freedom of expression, academic freedom, due process, and rights of conscience at our nation's colleges and universities. FIRE's efforts to preserve liberty on campuses across America are described at thefire.org.

FILE AN OFFICIAL FCC INDECENCY COMPLAINT AGAINST Fox's The X Factor

In a TV landscape that is turning increasingly hostile to family audiences, it is always a relief to find an hour or two each week when you can relax together as a family and enjoy a program that is reliably free of offensive content.
Which is why so many parents feel utterly betrayed when a program billed and promoted as family-friendly catches them off-guard with offensive, indecent content.
Wednesday night millions of families tuned-in to watch 2-hour season premiere of The X Factor on Fox.  From the same creators of American Idol which skyrocketed to the top of the ratings charts because of loyal family audiences, families had every reason to believe The X Factor would be similarly family-friendly.
Instead they got a sucker-punch in the form of a grossly inappropriate performance from Geo Godley, who dropped his pants and appeared to expose himself (covered only by a digitally superimposed X) during a song and dance routine.
If you do what contestant Geo Godley did in public, you get arrested. Apparently, if do it on Fox, you get free publicity during prime time. The fact that prolonged, previously taped footage of a contestant dancing nude on the X Factor stage made it to air represents a conscious decision by the producers to put this content in front of families during hours when children are likely to be watching. This incident demonstrates Fox’s contempt for any standard of decency in exchange for free use of the publicly-owned airwaves.
If you agree that this content does not belong on primetime television – particularly on a show that masquerades as family entertainment, take action now by filing a complaint with the FCC.
When the broadcast networks challenged the FCC’s fines for fleeting nudity and fleeting expletives, they assured Americans that if the courts ruled in their favor they wouldn’t suddenly start inserting more and more offensive content just because the courts gave them the “right” to do so…. Yet this week the New York Times notes a marked increase in unbleeped anatomical references during primetime hours on the broadcast networks; and now Fox is deliberately choosing to include footage of a man undressing on stage.
To make matters worse – the episode was rated TV-PG DL – so even if parents were using the V-Chip, that panacea touted by the entertainment industry as a parents’ best ally in protecting their children from inappropriate content, it would not have prevented audiences from seeing the disgraceful performance.
This X Factor striptease is indecent by any contemporary community standard.  The FCC needs to hear from you today.  Please take action now.

TAKE A MOMENT NOW to file your official Indecency Complaint with the FCC, and please, forward this message to everyone in your address book.

Support The Alabama Immigration Law

Alabama just passed one of the strongest anti-illegal alien laws in the country. What are they doing?

-       Schools in Alabama are now required to check for citizenship.
-       Police are allowed to check someone’s citizenship if they have a reasonable suspicion they are here illegally.
-       Illegal immigrants may be held without bail.
-       State courts may not enforce contracts made with illegal aliens.
-       It is a felony for an illegal immigrant to do business in Alabama.
-       It is a misdemeanor for an immigrant not to have immigration papers with them.

This law has had an amazing effect. Illegal aliens are fleeing Alabama in droves.

This law should be enacted in all 50 states.

Go here to sign our petition.

Unfortunately the Obama Department of Justice has sued to prevent just that.  We need to tell Washington to keep their hands off of Alabama's law and let all 50 states pass their own anti-illegal immigration laws.  Join us and sign our petition to tell Washington, we support Alabama and we stand with Alabama!

Take a moment to forward this message to five of your friends and ask them to sign our petition too.

Let Washington hear our voice.  We are tired of Washington turning a blind eye to the consequences of illegal immigration.

Stand with Alabama!
