Tell Your Reps. To Vote No on SB510 (America has a right to farm, hunt, & fish!)

Senate bill #510 is couched as a "Food Safety" bill to keep us from poisoning ourselves by outlawing home gardens, herbs, hunting and fishing. Manchin voted aye on this one too! Now West Virginia is one of the most economically deprived states in the union.  Over 60% of it's people hunt, fish, and almost everybody grows gardens, cans, and freezes our own products.  In checking with many of our local hospitals on how many people were admitted locally from home poisonings of vegetables, meat and/or fish not one person was admitted going back 5 years in the Eastern panhandle of WV.

Yet Manchin would have us under this "Monsanto-sponsored" bill.  Monsanto, for those who do not know, is the big corporation Obama likes (wonder why).  They are the ones who 'genetically modify terminator seeds.'  This is so we have to buy them new each year.  We have no idea what chemicals they pour on those seeds to get them to die each year. There are no studies on how these chemicals will affect us on the cellular level, or on our children genetically, but it won't be good!   Monsanto thinks we'll harm ourselves.  Monsanto has more toxic chemicals in everything it produces than we could dream up.  This bill is a joke called a "Food Safety" bill when we really need a "Monsanto Safety" bill.

This won't shock you, because here is a Monsanto ad:  http://twg2a.wordpress.com/2010/11/29/sb-510-food-modernization-act-passed...

After this Senate showed they are no different than the last one, this bill now goes to The House...probably very quietly.  We need to raise the cry and contact our Representatives to vote this thing down once and for all.  America has a right to farm, we have a right to hunt and fish, and no government should be so over-reaching!  Americans have a right not to be poisoned by our government!  To reach each and every representative you can go to:

Be sure to go to Ohio and tell John Boehner how important it is to not pass this bill:

Joe Manchin's term ends Jan. 3, 2013...oh will it ever get here??  Until then West Virginians will visit his site and make our dissatisfaction known!

Petition Sponsors of 'GLEE'

GLEE is Not Backing Down So Neither Will OMM

The popular teen television program "GLEE" is far from family-friendly entertainment.

Ryan Murphy, the creator of "Nip/Tuck," an open homosexual and the producer of "GLEE," is pushing political correctness and his lifestyle choice on teens. "GLEE" is not as graphic as "Nip/Tuck," but just as offensive and extremely inappropriate for their target audience of teenagers.

The music chosen for this show is extremely inappropriate especially for school activities. The choreographed routines are obscene and contain vulgar dancing which they perform for a regional competition. Foul language is used in every episode.

The writers mock Christianity with a song named "Jesus is a Friend of Mine" sung by competitors at regionals. The scene presented them as being cheesy, uncool and prudish.

One of the judges is a liberal nun, and a former exotic dancer. She became a nun because she needed a place to live. Another judge is Kathy Griffin, playing the part of Sarah Palin as a homeschooling mom and tea party candidate. Griffin portrays Palin in a negative light. They also mock Palin and her conservative beliefs by giving her lines to ask the students if they are born in the U.S. and to say homosexual students cannot win the competition because it sends a message to students that gay is okay. A third judge chimes in that two men can get married and raise a family. Then, the announcer for the winner of regionals announces that her husband is verbally abusive, and she has been drinking since noon.

Similar to most teen shows today, all the characters can talk about is sex. There are homosexual and lesbian couples on the show. These teens share passionate kisses on the mouth several times. The two homosexual boys sing a duet together, and the lesbians can only be friends since one of the girls has a boyfriend too.

In a previous episode, the substitute health teacher, played by Gwyneth Paltrow, takes it upon herself to teach the students sex education with visual and vulgar displays. She also joins the singing and dancing theme with highly sexual moves imitating a stripper. She says that abstinence is not reality.

TAKE ACTION

If you are outraged by this series send Burger King, Toyota, Lexus and Cellular South an email asking them to pull their support from "GLEE" and no longer sponsor this program through advertising. They have all sponsored the last three episodes of this show. Your email will also be sent to FOX Network.

Sign the "Protect Our Children's Innocence" Petition

Public Advocate

Banner
Dear Pro-family American,

The Radical Homosexuals infiltrating the United States Congress have a plan:

Indoctrinate an entire generation of American children with pro-homosexual propaganda and eliminate traditional values from American society.

Their ultimate dream is to create a new America based on sexual promiscuity in which the values you and I cherish are long forgotten.

I hate to admit it, but if they pass the deceptively named "Student Non-Discrimination Act," that's exactly what they'll do.

Better named the "Homosexual Classrooms Act," its chief advocate in Congress is Rep. Jared Polis, himself an open homosexual and radical activist.

That's why I need you to act quickly -- right away -- to protect our nation's youth.

I have prepared the official "Protect Our Children's Innocence" Petition to Congress for you to sign.

Please click here to sign it right away so I can rush it to the Capitol with thousands more.
You and I must defeat this disastrous legislation.

You see, the Homosexual Classrooms Act contains a laundry list of anti-family provisions that will:

*** Require schools to teach appalling homosexual acts so "homosexual students" don't feel "singled out" during already explicit sex-ed classes;
*** Spin impressionable students in a whirlwind of sexual confusion and misinformation, even peer pressure to "experiment" with the homosexual "lifestyle;"
*** Exempt homosexual students from punishment for propositioning, harassing, or even sexually assaulting their classmates, as part of their specially-protected right to "freedom of self-expression;"
*** Force private and even religious schools to teach a pro-homosexual curriculum and purge any reference to religion if a student claims it creates a "hostile learning environment" for homosexual students.
And that's just the beginning of the Homosexual Lobby's radical agenda.

In fact, it will set them up to ram through their entire perverted vision for a homosexual America.

My friend, I'm sure I don't have to tell you this is not a fight we can afford to lose.

That's why Public Advocate is leading the fight against this immoral legislation.

SB 1619 Passes Senate Committee

IFI Update: SB 1619 Passes Senate Committee
How did they vote?

by David E. Smith, IFI Executive Director -
Illinois Family Institute

Yesterday, the Illinois Senate Public Health committee passed SB 1619 by a party line vote of 6 to 4. It now moves to the full senate. Look at the list below to see how the members of this committee voted.

Take ACTION:
Click HERE to contact your state senator today and ask him or her to vote against SB 1619, the so-called "Personal Responsibility Education Program Act," which more appropriately could be called the "Condom Training Sex Ed Bill." SB 1619 is backed by Illinois Planned Parenthood Council, Illinois ACLU and a host of other liberal groups, which are engaged in a massive lobbying push for this bill.

You can also call the switchboard in Springfield at (217) 782-2000 and ask for your state senator. If you don't know who your state senator is,
click HERE to look up your elected officials. Or call the IFI office at (708) 781-9328 and we will help you get that information.

Background

Parents do not want their children being taught the "how to's" of sexual activity, especially when that activity puts their children's lives and health in jeopardy. Most parents are fully aware that Planned Parenthood and its liberal allies are actually encouraging sexual activity with SB 1619.

In 2005, the ACLU of Illinois mailed a letter to more than thirteen hundred school superintendents across Illinois complaining that some schools in Illinois are providing their students with "dangerous, inaccurate sex education information."

What "inaccurate sex education information," you may ask? Well, according to the ACLU of Illinois, schools that teach abstinence-only-until-marriage "deny students crucial information they need to prevent pregnancy and protect them from sexually-transmitted diseases (STDs)."

Yes, you read that right. The ACLU of Illinois holds the opinion that by promoting no sex until marriage, somehow schools increase student health risks. Of course this makes no sense. Abstinence, when adhered to, will never result in pregnancy and will never spread STDs.

Moreover, studies have shown that "A greater number of students in abstinence programs correctly identified STDs than did students in control groups," and "a greater number of students in abstinence programs reported correctly that birth control pills do not prevent STDs than did students in control groups." (For more information, please read Laurie Higgins' article,
Abstinence Education Works.)

The ACLU and Planned Parenthood, which also happens to be the nation's biggest abortion provider, would rather use your tax dollars and public school resources to promote and encourage young people to experiment with all types of risky sexual behavior, including oral sex and homosexuality. (In 2010, Illinois received $2.23 million from the new federal Personal Responsibility Education Program for "comprehensive" sex education programs.)

According to organizations like Planned Parenthood, it's necessary and appropriate to indoctrinate young impressionable students with ideas about dangerous behaviors, but abstention from discussing dangerous sexual behavior is misleading.

In contrast, just look at the recently released data by the Centers for Disease Control that strongly suggests that abstinence education works. According to the 2006-2008 survey results released earlier this month, the majority of teens have never had any kind of sexual relations with any partner.

The failures of "safe sex" are abundantly clear: unwanted pregnancies, abortion, disease, and devastating emotional ramifications. Abstinence until marriage is the only dependable safe-sex message Illinois policy-makers should be promoting in our public schools. There are no teenage pregnancy epidemics or STD outbreaks when abstinence is practiced. So, why not promote it?

Save Religious Freedom - ParentalRights.org

Stop the Treaty - Save Religious Freedom
According to Article 29 of the United Nations’ Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), every child has a government-enforceable right to be taught religious tolerance – the U.N.-defined idea that no one religion or belief can claim to be exclusively right. The only thing not to be tolerated is the belief that your religion is actually true.

This is one reason we oppose the CRC, and a reason why last Friday we sent out a call blitz to support SR 99, the resolution in the U.S. Senate opposing CRC ratification. We are very close to a victory. SR 99 will halt the CRC for 2 more years, but only the Parental Rights Amendment can end the threat of this treaty permanently. (Read more about the dangers of this treaty at ParentalRights.org/20Things.)

To reach both the short-term and the long-term victory, we need your help in educating more loyal Americans. Here’s what we would ask you to do:
Action Item
Warn your congregation. Whatever your faith, you want to pass your beliefs to your children – and so does the rest of your congregation. ParentalRights.org President Michael Farris has prepared a letter for you who are Christians to share with your pastors, addressing this need from a Christian perspective. This is because a majority of our readers are Christians – but the legal principles of religious liberty contained therein apply to every faith. We have also prepared a bulletin insert that your pastor can print and hand out.

I know people of many different faiths will receive this email, and we stand by the right of every one of you to teach your children as you believe, regardless of which faith that is. Religious and parental liberties are of value only when all of us are protected.

We would be glad to work with those from other faiths to prepare an appropriate flyer for you to use as you see fit. Please send us your suggestions for an appropriate text. (I will then post these at ParentalRights.org/Documents later this week or next.) We will only save our parental and religious liberty from the threat of the CRC if we can all stand together to defend it.

With your help, people will understand the threat of the CRC. Use these tools to reach out and urge your faith family to sign the petition to defend your children and our religious liberty through SR 99 and adoption of the Parental Rights Amendment.

Gratefully,

Michael Ramey
Director of Communications and Research
